Native plants provide essential habitats for our native wildlife and help to maintain a balance in our ecosystem. This is why DFW has collaborated with expert botanists and horticulturists associated with USDA, and UVI, to generate public categorical native plant lists (ex. Food, Heritage, etc). If you are interested in committing to growing native plants and supporting our native communities, please check out our “Planting the Future” Program. If you are seeking native plant recommendations or more information on our native plant lists, you may contact the Division directly.
